Case Study: Art Start
The purpose of ART START is to nurture the voices, hearts and minds of at-risk youth through creative arts workshops conducted daily inside homeless shelters and alternative to incarceration programs throughout New York City. Pollen founder Joey Rosa is a long-time volunteer at these programs, so we were thrilled to help out, when Art Start Director, Johanna came to us in desperate need of an agency to wrangle all of the marketing initiatives that have been started but never completed over the years, and distill them into a powerful new brand and web presence.
By creating custom spraypainted type, and hand-drawn elements we reinvented the brand to be modern and urban, but with a clear hand-made feel. We then extended this aesthetic to the website with custom illustrations and powerful animations with integrated stats about life on the streets for homeless kids – all driving the user to the course of action that they could best take to help Art Start.
